“I’m honored to have served as Utah’s state treasurer since 2015, working with my team to return over $200 million in lost money to Utahns, strengthening Utah’s AAA bond rating, prudently and profitably investing $18 billion in public funds, and implementing numerous money-saving treasury technologies and innovations. As a fiscal conservative, I continually strive to reduce the burden that Utah taxpayers bear.”
David Damschen is the 25th treasurer of Utah, appointed to the office in 2015 and re-elected to a four year term in 2016. As state treasurer, he is responsible for the state’s banking, cash and debt management, investment of public funds (including the $18 billion Public Treasurers’ Investment Fund), and the administration of the state’s Unclaimed Property Division.
